Ibrahim Abouelezz

Software engineer and founder of Nuss

I'm a software engineer with 4+ years of experience building complete products across web, mobile, and B2B. I'm building Nuss because the gap between “a writing tool” and “an Arabic writing tool” is wider than it needs to be — and I think it's a gap worth closing.

What I'm building

Nuss is an Arabic-first AI writing app with an integrated Quran search, high-accuracy Arabic transcription, and document chat (RAG). The goal isn't to be the Arabic version of Notion or Google Docs — it's to be a writing and research tool designed from the ground up for the Arab writer, researcher, and student, especially in Islamic studies and academic work.

Background

B.Sc. in Computer Science from the German University in Cairo (GUC). I work in Arabic, English, and German. Before Nuss I built 3ndk? (a geo-dispatch services marketplace on iOS and Android), Postmator (cross-platform social automation), and a number of B2B products. I also run a small studio called zzlab.

Why I write here

I write about what I learn building AI tools for Arabic: the pitfalls in audio transcription, preserving dialect through LLM editing, RAG over classical texts, where AI tools help a researcher and where they fail them. The goal is to share an actual point of view from inside the work — not to recycle the generic advice you'll find everywhere else.
